RECOMMENDATIONS - Things I think are good
These are my personal recommendations. I don't know everything about everyone, but these tools are what I use.
Effectively the same thing as Vim, NeoVim is a fork of the popular modal text editor, except pull requests actually get merged. It now strides pretty far ahead of Vim in terms of new features added; specifically its syntax highlighting has been improved with a more proper syntax parser.
landchad.net is an excellent resource for he who wants to host services on his own server; I have used resources on this site to set up my mailserver, webserver, and general sysadministration. It's not a complete database of knowledge yet, but it's certainly useful and is receiving updates often.
I am not a web design professional, nor am I an expert in many of the fields I post about. Take my word with a grain of salt, and always do research on your own.
